Fabrisonic is a joint venture between Michigan-based tech company Solidica and Ohio based research organization EWI. It provides 3DPrinting equipservices with its patented Ultrasonic Additive Mfg (UAM) process which uses sound to merge layers of metal foil. UAM produces true bonds with full density and works with a variety of metals such as AL, CU, SS, and Ti. Combining additive and subtractive process capabilities, UAM can create complex geometries impossible with conventional machining. UAM's solid state bond also allows for welding of dissimilar metals to produce MMC's, cladding, and embedded electronics.
