Fraunhofer IWU has developed the so-called Screw Extrusion Additive Manufacturing process as an industrial 3D printing method. A screw extruder already known in extrusion technology is used here. The biggest advantages compared to conventional plastic 3D printing processes are the processing of inexpensive standard granulation and the high throughput.
