Pioneers are powering space rockets with lighter, stronger engines. Doctors are custom-building limbs – even vital organs. Physicists are printing fusion reactors that will power the future. As designers and engineers, we’ve worked on the manufacturing breakthroughs. As watch lovers, we saw the potential. The potential to build awesome creations. And do it faster. Lighter. Stronger. From incredible materials. With almost zero waste. The potential to solve many of the challenges that have held back the watch industry in the past. The potential to build the watches we dream of, without compromise. We created Apiar to lead the way, helping the watch industry start to ask, “why not?” To show that we can build the impossible.
Build impossible
We use additive manufacturing to design and build things that have never been possible before. Impossible geometries, for unique shapes and structures, novel textures and extraordinary strength. In all sizes. From materials that would have previously been too restrictive or expensive to use. Every design we build will always push the boundaries.
Build sustainable
Additive manufacturing is inherently sustainable. Traditional manufacturing starts with a block of raw material and carves, cuts and chips away, discarding waste along the way. We start with nothing and add material one layer at a time, only using what we need. Our partners share our drive for sustainability. Together, we’ll always tread lightly when it comes to nature and the planet.
Build British
The UK is full of amazing manufacturers and craftspeople. We’ve built a supply chain that means we can build the bulk of our components at home – and assemble everything here in the UK, too. Our first watches were around 75% British-made and the number is even higher today. Our goal is to get to 100%. The trickiest bit will be the movements – but we’re working on that…
