William and Julien draw inspiration from the latest technological developments, sciences and arts to imagine objects and spaces. The studio collaborates with structures such as the Paris/Cambridge Laboratory, the MIT Media Lab, the Centre Pompidou, etc.
The agency is also a research laboratory around digital technologies such as 3D printing since 2015 and the design of a wire deposition printer with DOOD Studio. AYBAR Gallery in Miami, spots its first collection, a series of hairy vases printed with plant fibers.
Their numerous experiments led the studio to the Drôme, within the 8Fablab with which they began an exploration of the 3D printing technique of earth material.
Several collections were acquired by the National Center for Plastic Arts (CNAP) in 2019.
Bold et hors studio are winners of “New Worlds”, a program launched by the Ministry of Culture by proposing an experimental project of 3D printing of leather scraps on a micro-architecture scale.
The agency is signing its first retrospective exhibition “Symbiose” in Mayenne in 2021, which brings together a large selection of its projects. Its projects are exhibited at the Centre Pompidou, the Musée des Arts Décoratif in Paris and in various international galleries and are the subject of publications in magazines, blogs or specialized books.
William and Julien also lead numerous creative workshops for students and professionals.
