"Euromold is a World Fair for Moldmaking and Tooling, Design and Application Development established 20 years ago. EuroMold has been oriented towards users in areas such as the automobile, sub- contracting, electric and electronic industries, household appliances, medical devices, consumer goods, air and space travel and leisure and sport. In addition, it is oriented to companies which provide application development as part of their business, which means everything in one place–the so-called total service provider. The first EuroMold took place in 1994 with approximately 270 exhibitors in the Hessian state of Wiesbaden. Shortly thereafter, in 1997, the EuroMold Award – the ""Oscar of product development"" – was awarded for the first time for outstanding technical innovations and application development. In 2000, the EuroMold expanded its service with a new internet presence and introduced the special topic ""Integrated Tooling Service"".
In the following year, the EuroMold exhibition area grew to 80,000m2 whilst at the same time its internationality steadily grew among exhibitors and visitors alike.
In 2002, the EuroMold took place jointly with the International Trade Fair for Milling Technology, ""turntec"", and provided its visitors with an even broader spectrum of specialised topics. The exhibition celebrated its10th anniversary in 2003. Because of its broad spectrum of exhibitors, it organised things according to topic for the first time in order to provide a better overview. In 2007, EuroMold especially promoted young talent in German tooling and forming with its career event ""careers4engineers"". For its 15th anniversary in 2008, the ""Business and Design Area"" was newly launched as a communication platform and received an enthusiastic response. A new hall concept and the new Hall 11 shortened the way to the fair in 2009 and at the same time set a new architectural standard. 2010 saw visitors from the key sectors of automobile and machine engineering as well as a greater number of visitors from the management level. The new exhibition area and the expansion of already existing stands increased the exhibition area by 4.1% the following year. An increase of 12.2% in the rate of first-time exhibitors was seen in 2012. A new special show on the topic of the ""Jewellery Industry"" was also presented. The 2013 edition of EuroMold presented a multitude of innovations, new system applications, products and more special topics such as 3D printing technology, lightweight design, hybrid technology or thermo-forming as well as this year's guest country, Italy. Over 1,100 exhibitors and more than 55,000 specialist visitors are expected."
