FarmTools 3D is a web platform that aims to provide a collaborative environment where makers and final users can share their knowledge, provide feedback, print tools for trials or for the daily works. All this with the wish to drive production of next generation tools for agriculture. FarmTools 3d bring together three main business aspects.
The first aspect is to promote the
fast trial of new agricultural tools on the fields before the mass-production. We will take as case study the ideation
for trial purpose of new generations of insects traps. There are several kinds of insect traps for agriculture but mostly the research of better trap design proceed slowly. FarmTools 3D want to become the reference crowd-testing platform for new kind of tools that the user can improve, print and test on the field in order to make a successful trial before the production.
The second is a crowdfunding service to be offered to universities and research centers in order to raise money for research activities.
The third aspect aspect is to
provide agricultural tools to the rural farming activities (mostly in African continent) providing them with two kinds of products:
- Simple products like hose adapter or irrigation system components that can be printed locally
- More sophisticated tools that can be printed as model
and taken to local blacksmiths to reproduce them
