HPF is specialised in the production of hot forged thermally treated and mechanically processed metal components. The Company is a privileged supplier of medical, aerospace, automotive and power generation markets, often collaborating with the latter in the development of new processes and products and always pursuing customer satisfaction as its main goal.
In 1945, Carlo Leopoldo Lualdi, a former partner in a clinic, decided to produce medical instruments satisfying the demands of the market which was experiencing a lack of supply of these products in the post-war period. The first facility was established in Anduins, a small town in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, located in north-eastern Italy. 1950-1960 The industrial activities expanded to new, highly technological sectors. In 1953, the first helicopter prototype ES 53 was manufactured and it was also the first model completely relying on Italian technology. In the years to follow, Aerlualdi was founded, which built other helicopter models: L-55, L-57 and L-59. The latter obtains flight certification in 1960 by the American Committee "Federal Aviation Agency”, which was recognized and is still known as being a very strict institution. In addition to obtaining certification, the Aerlualdi L-59 was found to be a helicopter free from vibrations, with excellent performance and with a carrying capacity of 287 kg more with respect to the quoted and famous Bell 47; furthermore the aircraft was much more convenient. 1970 the headquarters were transferred to Flagogna. The factory was designed for processing titanium, a new material which was recently being used in Italian industry, and for other special materials. The use of innovative materials in the production of components for aerospace, motor, and mechanical sectors, and for orthopedic devices represented a turning point in the life and development of the company. 1996 After fifty years from its foundation, the company growth is constant and the facility now employs over 200 people involved in five strategic business fields: orthopaedics, aerospace, energy generation, mechanics, and motors. Important strategies, between the various sectors, have been developed with regards ton research, planning, and production. the company now implement total quality assurance systems. 2005 Restoration begins on the helicopter L-59 I-GOGO which was the first to use the propeller tail rotor in fibreglass. It is a four-seater helicopter with aerodynamic lines that at first glance reveals the elegance and the class of the best Italian products. From the pleasant cabin, four comfortable seats can enjoy wide visibility in all directions, also from the including unusual rear.
