"Mousetrap Innovation was founded by Iain R. Duncan C.Eng MIET in 2013 following a successful career at the forefront of Technology and Entrepreneurship.
“ MouseTrap Innovation continues my journey at the leading edge of technology and builds on my experiences not only to create a sustainable business for the people who work within the company but also to promote innovation and creativity within the wider community.
After earning a degree in Systems Engineering f, I learnt the skills of project management while working on an important NATO project for the MOD. With a very broad background in engineering I soon became sought after by venture capitalists in various industries to lead start-up ventures and support turnarounds in the UK, Europe and the USA. After starting my own robotics company in the USA I returned to the UK to teach, but eventually returned to lead innovation and future technology for a major international defence company where my unique combination of commercial awareness and technology capability lead to the introduction of a number of new ventures.
Mousetrap was originally conceived as a mentoring and innovation training company using my skills alone.
After a short while we found we were not only mentoring, and training in innovation but also providing some of the skills which were not always easy to find in start-ups, and even in existing businesses who wanted to grow, so we added our own design capabilities and a prototyping facility so as to be able to provide a full concept to capability service.
We are a ‘doing’ consultancy and stay true to our desire to help others achieve, and are proud to be the sponsors for Fablab Essex where we can use our MakerDen facility to support the local community and promote Open Source and Open innovation.”
Our approach to Turning Ideas into reality has Resulted in several commercial relationships with some of the companies we have helped to grow and we continue to collaborate with them.
As aresult we have become aapproved resellers for a select number of 3D printers ranging from a reprap self assembly Kit, The amazing Zmorph personal creator, the well respected Ultimaker series, and a high;y capable hexapod machine."
