Our team of 80+ world-class scientists, engineers, and operators has been assembled from some of the world’s most innovative companies and institutions, including the Max Planck IPP, MIT, SpaceX, Tesla, McLaren, Google X, TUM, EPFL, Stanford, KIT, Harvard, and Cambridge.
We work closely with world-leading fusion research institutions, including the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), leveraging decades of research and experience from the European fusion ecosystem.
In order to develop the world’s first fusion power plant, Proxima Fusion is utilizing groundbreaking breakthroughs in basic research and the latest developments in the fields of high-temperature superconductors, automation, additive manufacturing and machine learning. Of all the technology paths, stellarators offer the royal road to the power plant due to the comparably high technological maturity and degree of testing at Wendelstein 7-X. As an inherent part of the global fusion community, Proxima Fusion leverages decades of expertise and an established supply chain.
