Founded by Matthias Fockele, one of the two phisicists that developed and patented the SLM (Selective Laser Melting) process at the Fraunhofer Institute fo Laser Technology (ILT), German company ReaLizer is one of the leading producers of SLM based 3D Printer Manufacturer, together with SLM Solutions. The company manufactures four models (SLM 50, 100, 250 and 300) with different sized printing chambers. The SLM 50 is the first desktop sized 3D printer capable of producing gold parts by SLM.

Profile Description

In 1995, the company began with the development of SLM technology for the production of components made of metallic materials. As early as 1997, the first patents were applied for. In 1999, the company delivered the world’s first SLM machine for metals at the research centre in Karlsruhe. In 2004, Dr. Matthias Fockele founded ReaLizer GmbH, another enterprise which focuses on the development and production of SLM machines for the manufacture of metal workpieces.
