Sunnyday Technologies develops two platforms for the concrete 3D printing industry: CEMFORGE, an AI-powered mix formulation engine for optimizing cementitious composites for additive construction, and M3-CRETE, an open-source pallet-scale concrete 3D printer designed for field deployment and research validation.

Profile Description

Nick Sonnentag is a materials science engineer with 30 years of hands-on experience spanning aerospace composites, metallurgy, and cementitious materials. He founded Sunnyday Technologies in Appleton, Wisconsin in 2022, and transitioned to full-time entrepreneurship in January 2026 to focus exclusively on AI-driven concrete formulation and open-source additive construction hardware.

His background is practical and cross-disciplinary — from aerospace defense materials to reef aquaculture to concrete 3D printing — with a consistent thread of solving materials problems that conventional approaches treat as fixed constraints. CEMFORGE and M3-CRETE are direct products of that approach: tools built to replace trial-and-error processes with data-driven formulation and accessible hardware.

Nick participates actively in the emerging additive construction standards community and brings that technical context directly into product development priorities at Sunnyday Technologies.
