Fusion3 introduced a new EDGE 3D printer

The American company Fusion3 introduced a new EDGE 3D printer at the beginning of 2022. The new product is based on the F-Series kinematic scheme, which is an improved version of the classic CoreXY kinematics.

The Fusion3 EDGE is an affordable industrial-grade 3D printer designed for small- and medium-scale production, as well as fast printing of large products using refractory filaments. The range of consumables includes polycarbonate, polypropylene, nylon, thermopolyurethane, and reinforced composites.

Quality new components of the Fusion3 EDGE include a patented ANVIL printhead based on a proprietary extruder, an improved work platform leveling system, reinforced belts, precision linear guides and stepper motors, all of which increase speed and print quality.

The Fusion3 EDGE is a rigid aluminum design that reduces vibration to ensure fast, high-quality printing.

The ANVIL printhead combines a proprietary extruder as well as proprietary know-how – instead of conventional interchangeable nozzles, it uses a surgical steel tube. This solution offers higher print speeds and improved wear resistance for composite materials with increased abrasion. The maximum operating temperature is 320 degrees, and the printing speed for some materials reaches 250 millimeters per second.

The printer’s working chamber can be heated up to 70 degrees and the print area is 368x368x343 millimeters.

The worktable with an automatic leveling system is a quarter-inch-thick aluminum plate with a glass surface. The temperature of the worktable is heated up to 140 degrees.

A 7-inch touch screen display is available for use with the 3D printer. The Fusion3 EDGE allows for remote control.

To prepare files for printing, Fusion3 engineers developed their own software REACTOR – the software was created based on the REALvision slicer from the Danish company Create it REAL.
