Shining 3D has released a new color 3D scanner using structured LED backlighting technology with a customizable scanning range for digitizing objects of different sizes.

The Transcan C 3D scanner was demonstrated for the first time at the Formnext-2021 industry exhibition in Frankfurt am Main. The new system relies on structured illumination technology, using “white” LEDs, and allows you to change the distance between cameras for optimal results with objects of different sizes.
The Transcan C is positioned as a professional-level 3D scanner with high resolution and accuracy. It is captured with 12-megapixel cameras, which provide full-color reproduction with a high level of detail.
Range Setting.
The sliding modules allow you to have a choice of two scanning ranges – 150×96 mm for the highest precision and 300×190 mm for the largest targets.
Multi-Resolution Fusion
The Multi-Resolution Fusion algorithm allows you to mix three levels of resolution (high, medium and low) within a single project to perform complex tasks with increased overall efficiency.
Color rendering
Two 12-megapixel cameras capture images at 24-bit color depth, delivering accurate color and making the Transcan C perfectly suited to digitizing objects for virtual reality.
High accuracy and smart software
The compact system provides an accuracy of 0.035 mm at minimum camera distance and 0.05 mm at maximum camera distance. The scanning process is fully automated and uses a synchronized turntable. The combination with the stitching algorithms guarantees efficient digitization with minimum operator input. The software with its user-friendly interface guides users step-by-step through the necessary operations and provides all the necessary tools to optimize the resulting data.
