"Urban FabLab was born in Naples on the international experience of COdesignLab in collaboration with the 'cultural association Urban FabLab.
The Laboratory, with the scientific direction of Paolo Cascone, uses an interdisciplinary approach to the development of ideas and prototyping processes by integrating advanced design (ecological design and parametric design) with the culture of self-production (self-construction and digital fabrication). Urban FabLab also aims to develop projects that will go from the regional scale to the architecture to design products by combining technological innovation, environmental sustainability and creativity.
Research / development and training / disclosure will be particularly sensitive to the issues of urban ecology, the co-production and advanced craft by relating scientific community, local institutions and the community."
