After the bankruptcy of Admatec and Formatec at the end of April 2025, a restart was successfully worked on under the leadership of former director and co-founder of Admatec. Since the beginning of June, the companies have continued their activities under new names: Admatec Additive Solutions B.V. and Formatec Advanced Products B.V. This preserves almost thirty years of accumulated expertise in technical ceramics – and lays a strong foundation for a stable, innovative future.
Developing a way to 3D print ceramics to improve efficiency, enable adding complexity and simplifying the production process, the project turned into a company in 2013: Admatec Europe. With successful results of job-shop activities and proof of concept for the patented Admaflex Technology, the Admaflex 130 was launched in 2016. A ceramics 3D printer, ready to be distributed globally for commercial use. As development is a recurring process, in 2018 Admatec merged with a part of ECN (now TNO) and the company doubled in capacity, opening a 1650 m2 R&D and production facility in Alkmaar. Metals were added to the portfolio and searching for methods to simplify complex ceramic and metal 3D printing in a customized way continued. We invest in research targeting a broader range of materials, but also continuously advancing the patented in-house developed Admaflex Technology to enable the delivery of critical benefits in high demanding industries and applications. Ultimately to offer our customers the full solution for complex-shaped metals and ceramics in a flexible and reliable way, tailored to their needs.
